journalists to be sub-editors. We are the only place offering
the fast track NCTJ Certificate in Journalism (sub-editing). more
- Fast track: We offer the fastest fast track NCTJ Course in the country - 10 weeks in the classroom plus work experience and exams. It's quality training in a time frame that delivers the goods as quickly and yet as soundly as possible.
- Work experience: We guarantee all students at least a week
on The Argus or The Leader newspapers PLUS a week on The
Grocer, the leading national business to business magazine. In
addition, our students have an exclusive chance to apply for a paid three-month
internship on the leading F1 magazine, Red
Bulletin. We also give CV and
cover letter advice, the key to getting started in journalism.
- Traditional skills of journalism: We continue to provide all the essential elements of traditional journalism training, such as story gathering, news writing, media law and government but instead of shorthand, our students learn sub-editing.
- Web-based journalism: is integrated in to our programme of courses, so students learn how to write and sub-edit in newspapers, magazines and online.
- Portfolio-building: Reporters and editors from The Argus
speak to our students regularly and give them real-life assignments - so
trainees get the chance to write stories, which may get published. Students
get the chance to leave with a portfolio of work including page leads,
book reviews, features and picture stories printed in The Argus, helping
them getting started in journalism.
- Real journalists to train real journalists: Our courses
are run by a team of talented journalists and trainers. Our
students love the real world experiences passed on by working journalists
